Really enjoyed this 4D ride. Really well done and good value for money. Be prepared for roller-coaster mix of movement and visuals which is impressive. It lasts 9mins i think but was worth it.

A journey through the 2021 eruption on the Reykjanes Peninsula, in a theater with movable seats. The projection is in 2D on a large screen, but it's not immersive. It's worthwhile if you want to see real footage of the eruption and learn a bit more about the situation on the peninsula. The information panels at the entrance are also interesting. It's a good option if it's raining.

The experience is good; the video is entertaining and very realistic, which draws you into the story. However, it's too short (the immersive experience only lasts 9 minutes), which makes it go by very quickly, barely allowing you to enjoy it.
Located somewhat off the beaten track! Expensive, but interesting!

"Mixed feelings" is a good and honest expression to describe the experience. It feels new and interesting only for those who haven't experienced the more modern so-called 5D experiences. A little too much shaking and rattling, and a bit overpriced.
The free display in the hall is somehow more exciting than the warm steamy cinema experience.

After various videos and cute interactives in the waiting area you are ushered into a theater and politely asked to fasten your seat belt. This latter is critical, as Volcano Express is a nine-minute virtual roller coaster ride where you are flung very realistically from site to site onscreen as a voice-over tells you about the various phenomena you are witnessing. The onscreen images are thrilling (we are assured they are actual photos and videos, no CGI) and the effects are realistic enough to make your stomach jolt. All in all Volcano Express delivers a good time, especially for children who like theme parks.

Not knowing how to spend the hours before our return flight on a rainy day, we opted for this activity within the area, with underground parking available. The activity lasts about half an hour. It's still thrilling to virtually experience a volcanic eruption while sitting in dynamic chairs.

Good experience but Not sure it deserves to be a Standalone show
The Ride itself was well done but the added exhibition was only 5 short films. So overall great value for the price (keeping in mind that iceland is really really expensive for visitors) but this Show would be better suited to be Part of geology Museum.
P.s. many of us Tourist like to keep receipts for Shows etc as Souvenir. I am a Bit disappointes its Just some thermopaper Register receipt. Yes weird complaint ;)

Very cool! We had a lot of fun and learned quite a bit.
It's basically a 4D cinema, and like everything in Iceland, quite expensive. The film and exhibition take about half an hour. But if you're in the area, you should definitely treat yourself to the Volcano Express "tour."

Very nice and informative experience. Really nice footage of the volcanic eruptions happened very recently. A little bit expensive for a 10 minute show
This was an okay way to spend a little free time. The admission fee was minimal, and the show was only about 10 minutes. There is a lot of jostling around during the show, so be sure to buckle up and zip up your pockets!
Ein nettes Erlebnis, hat Spaß gemacht. Die Animation ist gut gemacht und informativ. Leider viel zu schnell vorbei. Vor der Show befindet sich der Hinweis, dass diese nicht so gut geeignet ist für Personen mit Rückenproblemen (Bandscheiben) - ist tatsächlich ernst zu nehmen. Man fällt zweimal unangekündigt mit einem sehr harten Ruck nach unten. (Alles andere ist kein Thema)

Nice person and the show is cool. A bit short for the price, but Iceland is expensive. I think it's a shame you have to pay extra for the toilets, but it's still worth a visit!

The cinematography is stunning, and the "5D cinema" effect is interesting but not overwhelming. The shots are fantastic, and it's hard to believe they're real and not computer-generated! And they are! The shots are so great you could watch them for hours, but here, it only takes a few minutes and that's it. The moving seat effect is a nice addition, but I would gladly sacrifice it for a longer film. Before the film, there's an opportunity to view the exhibition, but I happened to have only a few minutes to see two exhibits, which is a shame. Overall, I recommend it; it's worth it, though too short.

We enjoyed the immersion movie but we were overcharged. A billboard near the venue advertises as 2900 ISK, when I relapsed we were charged tap 3900 ISK each I returned to the venue and asked staff. I was told the price has increased. This is very misleading.

Incredible interactive show that physically involves you in the experience of volcanoes and other geothermal energy. The seats move and shake you, you can smell the sulphur, and hot air blows on you, making you truly feel like you are there. The video can be dizzying and the jerking and shaking is probably not for anyone with a bad back or brittle bones, but it's really well done and you do learn a lot about Iceland and its geothermal phenomena.

A visually rich introduction to Icelandic volcanoes
The fact that stayed with me is that Reykjavik has a volcano in its backyard. Everything else - the footage, the hot air, the flight above raging lava was a bonus.

This is a 9 minute program that has little meaningful content— just shaking seats and blowing air. For 20 Euros, I expected to learn something about what it is like to live near an active volcano (what was it like when it was erupting five years ago? What plans does the city have for the next time it erupts? How much energy does Iceland harness from geothermal?).
I would skip this, although it is nice to visit the gorgeous Harpa Hall in which it is found.
